- Specialty Tapes
Fralock is a provider of specialty tapes and films made to perform in a wide range of environments. Used for bonding, sound/vibration dampening, surface protection, wire wrapping, heat shielding, thermal insulation, UV blocking, moisture barriers, and part masking, our tapes are made specially for your requirements. They are available with or without adhesive, adhesive on one or two sides, and zone-coated. Our engineers can help you determine which tape or film will work best for your application.
High Temperature Adhesive Systems
Specialized tapes are designed to withstand elevated temperatures without losing their adhesive properties or structural integrity. They are resistant to heat and chemicals, and are flexible for assembly into a variety of configurations.
DuPontTM Kapton® Tapes
Lightweight high-performance polyimide tape can withstand extreme temperatures, resist chemicals, block heat and UV radiation, and is electrically insulating. Choose from a wide range of Kapton® types to fit your requirements.
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene – Teflon) & FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene)
Metallized Film Tapes
These tapes are comprised of film backing with thin metallized coatings on one side of the film substrate and an adhesive on the other side. Coatings can be aluminum, copper, germanium, gold, nickel, silver, or other alloys. They are lightweight, heat and radiation reflective, and thermally insulating. They seal out moisture and gas, are electrically conductive (copper), and UV resistant.
Polyester Tapes (PET)/Mylar
Polyester tapes (polyethylene terephthalate), feature high tensile strength and resistance to chemicals, extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and moisture. They have excellent dimensional stability, flexibility, and adhesive compatibility.
Glass Cloth & Fabric Tapes
With a backing made of woven glass fibers or fabric, these tapes have high tensile strength and are resistant to heat, fire, abrasion, chemicals, tearing, and UV radiation. They are flexible, electrically insulating, and have good adhesive compatibility.
Electrically Conductive Tapes
These are tapes made with with an electrically conductive substrate using metals such as copper, aluminum, or nickel. Effective for EMI/RFI shielding, electrically conductive tapes are flexible, resistant to heat and corrosion, and durable, with good adhesion to a variety of conductive materials.
EMI/RFI Shielding Tapes
Electrostatic Dissipative Tapes
Formulated to prevent the build-up of electrostatic charges, these tapes are made with a substrate of conductive polymers, carbon-loaded films, or metal foils. The adhesive is also conductive, and their surface resistance allows controlled dissipation of static charges while preventing the generation of sparks. They are flexible, resistant to wear, heat, and chemicals.
Foil Tapes
These tapes have a substrate made of thin metal foil such as aluminum or copper, which are conductive. Foil tapes have excellent heat and light reflecting properties and are thermally conductive, resistant against UV radiation, and chemicals, and they block moisture and gases. They can be configured with a variety of adhesives, including acrylic, rubber, or silicon.
